Rules and skills

How to give the agent standing rules, teach it your own skills, and reference files and conversations with "@".

Project rules

Put an AGENTS.md file in the working folder. The agent reads it at the start of the work and follows the rules written there: "reply in Russian", "do not touch the archive folder", "always include the date in reports".

Rules for all folders at once go into AGENTS.md in the app's data folder. Where it is on your system is described on the Deleting data and your account page.

Skills

A skill is your instruction for a recurring job: how to write letters to customers, how to format a report, how to prepare a publication. Put a folder with a SKILL.md file in .agents/skills/ inside the working folder, and the agent will apply the skill when the task fits. At the start of the file, give a name and a description:

Mentions with "@"

Type "@" in the input field, and a list of things you can reference appears:

• Files and folders from the working folder.
• Other conversations. The agent reads the conversation in question and takes it into account, for example when the work started in one conversation and continues in another.
