Yenisei AgentGetting started
Installation
How to install the app on macOS, Windows, and Linux and launch it for the first time.
Supported systems
- macOS 12 or later. There are separate builds for Apple Silicon (M1 and later) and for Intel.
- Windows 10 or later, 64-bit.
- Linux x86-64, AppImage file.
Download
Open the download page, the "Yenisei Agent" section, and choose your system. On a Mac, pick the build for your processor: open the Apple menu → "About This Mac". "Apple M…" means Apple Silicon; "Intel" means Intel.
The app is not yet signed with a developer certificate, so on first launch the system will warn that the program comes from an unknown source. How to proceed is described below.
Installing on macOS
-
Open the downloaded
.dmgimage and drag Yenisei to the "Applications" folder. -
Launch Yenisei from "Applications". If macOS refuses to open the app, open "System Settings" → "Privacy & Security" and click "Open Anyway" next to the message about Yenisei.
-
If macOS reports that the app is damaged, remove the download flag from the file. Open "Terminal" and run:
Terminalxattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Yenisei.app
Installing on Windows
- Run the downloaded
Yenisei-…-setup.exefile. - If the "Windows protected your PC" window appears, click "More info", then "Run anyway".
- Installation takes two to three minutes, up to six on some computers: the installer unpacks all of the app's files right away. Administrator rights are not needed: the program is installed only for your Windows user.
- After installation the app opens right away. If the installer did not download completely, the app will say so: "the installer files are damaged". In that case, download the installer again.
Installing on Linux
Make the downloaded file executable and run it:
chmod +x Yenisei-*-x86_64.AppImage
./Yenisei-*-x86_64.AppImage
If the app does not start, see FAQ.
