Yenisei CLIFeatures
Settings
How to configure the assistant for a project with the .yenisei.json file, exclude unnecessary files and where the program keeps its data.
Yenisei CLI settings are stored in files inside the project folder:
.yenisei.json selects the model and controls how changes are saved,
.yeniseignore hides unnecessary files from the assistant. Both files are
optional; without them the assistant works with the default settings.
The .yenisei.json project file
The file lives in the project root. Example:
{
"model": "yenisei-100",
"auto_commit": false,
"ignore": ["tmp", "*.csv"]
}
model. The model for this project.auto_commit. Whether to save changes in a commit. Enabled by default.ignore. Which files and folders to hide from the assistant in the project map and in search.
If you turn auto_commit off, changes stay unsaved, and the /diff command
shows them:
The /diff command shows unsaved changes when auto-commit is off
allow_commands has no effect in this file. A project file can narrow
permissions but not widen them: it arrives together with someone else's
repository.
Excluded files and folders
The .yeniseignore file in the project root contains the same exclusions as
the ignore field, one per line. Lines starting with # are comments.
By default the assistant does not look into service folders (.git,
node_modules, dist, build, vendor, .venv, .idea, .vscode and
similar), nor into images, archives, logs and compiled programs.
Program data
The program keeps its data in the ~/.config/yenisei/ folder, on Windows in
C:\Users\<name>\.config\yenisei\.
| File | What it contains |
|---|---|
session.json | Sign-in: email address and session. |
history/ | Conversations, one file per project folder. |
