Yenisei CLI

A programmer's assistant
in the terminal

A single executable with no dependencies. It runs in the project folder: reads and searches the code, edits files, runs commands and saves changes as commits.

WindowsmacOSLinux
demo-app — yenisei
$

Works in the IDE terminal
VS Code, JetBrains, Cursor and Zed

Open the built-in terminal and run yenisei. Edits appear right in the open files: you can see what was added and what was removed.

demo-app
prices.py
1def total(prices):
2 return sum(prices)
3
4
5def report(prices):
6 print("Total:", total(prices))
Terminal — yenisei
❯

Running commands
and a commit after every task

Runs commands

Tests, builds, running the project, including in the background with output to a log. Before commands that could do harm, it asks for permission.

❯

A commit after every task

After every task the changed files are saved as a commit; "/undo" rolls back the last one.

Code map and search

The assistant builds a map of the project with files, functions and classes and searches the code, so it edits related files consistently.

Shows every edit

After an edit the terminal shows which lines were removed and which were added. Not right? "/undo" rolls back the last task.

Shared account and balance

The same sign-in and the same credits as in the chat and the app. Usage is visible in your account.

Your conversations stay with you

We do not keep what you discussed with the model in the terminal: the conversation is stored on your computer. On our side only the accounting remains: which model and how much, for billing.

One file

Download it, put it in a folder and run it. No other software to install; updates come with yenisei update.

How to start

  1. 1Install: one command on macOS and Linux, a file on Windows
